• <H4> There are so many reasons that this is a book for our times. The quote from the book in the headline is by far the most important reason for this book to have been written and for ALL to read it. I am reminded of the verse Mark 12:31 “The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” The book reads like a suspense novel, yet the stories of struggle is NOT FICTION! The fact Ron tells us REAL stories of REAL people is horrifying and heartwarming at the same time. I could not put the book down. I know I have lived a sheltered life and by God’s Grace I have not been exposed to such indignities that are told in this book. I wish I had this information when I was younger, but it is never too late to learn how to love without question and truly accept the wonderful diversity life has to offer.
• <H4> There so are many best things about this book and here is another one: It doesn’t matter what your sexual orientation is, if you are trying to live life authentically, the first step is in healing yourself and healing can lonely start after each of us comes out from hiding from ourselves, exemplified beautifully in this book. By the way, I know that I have been living under a rock–Did you know that PRIDE = People Respecting Individuals, Diversity, & Equality? I did not, but now I do. (Crazy, where have I been?—oh yeah, delivering babies) This book can be a movie, this book can be a play, this book can be a seed for a multitude of things, but the one thing I ask is to not let this book be unread collecting nano-dust in your Kindle library.

• <H4> This book examines the true way to “follow your bliss”.  With memorable quotes like: “The dark side is the place where our socialized being is judging who we really are and want to be.”; “What if everything you wanted was just on the other side of everything you are scared of?”; and “The dark side clearly exists.” Sara digs deep into why it is so important to accept all of who we are in order to find our true purpose of why we are here on the Earth at this most important time.
• <H4> I believe there is a greater purpose as to why we are here and what is great about this book is, it guides you to ask the hard questions of yourself so you will be able to uncover what you really want out of your life, which is what you came here for in the first place. Forget about what you may think others expect you to do, find out what you really want deep inside.
• <H4> She also tackles fear—check this quote out— “your fear is just the same thought, on repeat. Like, the same thing, over and over and over again. Sometimes there’s a variation, but mostly it’s the same thought on repeat. How boring is that? You’re better that that.” This book is so juicy! All the advice I needed to hear at this point in my life.
• <H4> Sara gives the reader permission to find out what they don’t know they had all along. Now you have to read the book to find out what that is for you! The most important thing you will learn from this book is how to live life forward, one decision at a time, one action at a time, one moment at a time, and “how starting [your life purpose] shows you a lot more than endless planning.” Thank you Sara!

• <H3> The Arrival of a New Way of thinking about drinking too much and how to fix it!
• <H4> This book is a gentle guide to living life in moderation and finding your personal peace with drinking alcoholic beverages.  The author helps you reflect on your “about last night” moments by sharing her journey through the same type of moments. In doing so, the reader finds they are not alone in the struggle of serial overindulgence. This book teaches you how to stop alcohol as a band aid for how you are feeling about yourself.  I discovered this quote is the foundation of her teachings: “Alcohol becomes a crutch when you unconsciously teach your brain that it makes a specific situation easier or a part of your life more bearable, usually because you don’t have alternative means to cope with discomfort.” Rachel invites us to look at a different paradigm about drinking too much by helping us shift from the old standby of thinking that you have to be labeled an alcoholic because you have a disease or a character flaw. With this book Rachel brings in the concept that drinking too much has been a learned behavior for coping that once examined can be unlearned.  She does not deny the need for treatment of alcoholism or that it exists but she fills the gap for those people who want to moderate their behavior of how they deal with the stressors of their life, especially during social situations. Rachel breaks it down to the think – feel – act cycle and shows you how to control the drinking part of how you respond to your emotions. Rachel has also put together many exercises for self discovery of how to overcome your obstacles that create drinking too much as a solution to your problems. Excellent book!

It felt esoteric, so I decided to Google it….I suggest you do the same. But to keep the intrigue at its highest, first get this book, read it before you Google, then wait for it…..you will never be the same again!

Look out 2017, the year of 1 = New Beginnings, I am going to implement this plan! Her breakdown about the two types of resistance to growing your business completely resonated with me. I love how she hit the mark by addressing how it’s not just about following someone else’s formula to success, but it’s about the secret formula that is hidden within each individual for their own way of obtaining success and enjoying life at the same time. Thank you so much for the courage it took to write this book. This book is important to read, not only for widows but for all of us who are of the age when we are seeing our friends and family pass away. Two of my dear friends from college have both recently passed away; this book is a wonderful gift for them!

Debbie Lazinsky was featured in People magazine’s “Half My Size” issue in January 2014 and her amazing story of her Dad’s visit with her before the magazine photo shoot sent chills up my spine. Love and acceptance conquers all things. “Habits are actions we do without much thought.” Okay, I am ready for my weight loss journey! I love how she created “The Linda Project”, linda in Spanish means: pretty; Hermosa; beautiful; bella; bonita; guapa; guapo or handsome. Being Hispanic I quickly resonated with where she was going. Her advice is so simple to follow and so forgiving, why didn’t I think of this? Now I don’t have to!! Yep, I’m ready.
